Re-introducing Clayton Finnegan
Many of you know him, but let me re-introduce Mr. Clay Finnegan.
Clay has been with the Saltwater Excursions team for the past three years and was our full time deckhand in 2013.
As 2015 rolls around you will see Clay working in two capacities. Clay will still be part time deck handing on the Saltwater Addiction; however, this year you may also see Clay captaining the vessel as well! Clay has gained enough sea service time to pursue his Master’s license with the United States Merchant Marines.
Hopefully he will be able to attend the Master’s class this winter and have all his credentials by the end of the winter.
Clay grew up on a farm in Indiana. Clay attended and graduated from Vincennes University with an Associates’ degree in fire science and conservation law enforcement. The adventures and great outdoors brought him to the North Country! He has previously worked on fire crews and has spent a summer as a wilderness adventure guide in Alaska.
In the fall Clay works as an Assistant Hunting Guide all over the State of Alaska. As winter rolls around, and the North Slope starts to freeze over, Clay makes his way up to Prudhoe Bay, Alaska to work in the oil fields.
In his spare time, Clay enjoys hunting, fly-fishing, canoeing, camping, and riding his Harley Davidson; however, he is still in search of that 40″ ram and 30″ rainbow!!!
Don’t forget to give Clay a big Alaskan “How Do?” the next time you see him.
