Helicopter Operations begin May 1st!
Saltwater Excursions, LLC has decided to expand the scope of their business. We have purchased a helicopter and will be providing helicopter flight seeing tours of Prince William Sound. These tours will start approximately May 1st and will continue through late September.
We will be offering three types of tours, 30 minute tour, 10 minute canal tour, or any customized tour of your choice.
Saltwater Excursions, LLC has purchased an Enstrom F-28F helicopter, also known as the Falcon. The Enstrom’s piston-powered “Falcon” F-28F is nicknamed for its sleek aerodynamic styling. Enstrom’s reputation for safety, has set the standard in the light helicopter market.
I (Kristen Labrecque) have been a pilot for 16 years. I started my career flying fixed wing aircraft in remote areas of Alaska. Six years into my career I decided I would like to start flying rotor wing helicopters. With a little help from the Whirly Girls by means of a very generous scholarship, I was able to make that dream come true. I completed my training and was hired on by Evergreen Helicopters, Inc. (now Erickson, Inc.) which was based out of McMinnville, Oregon. I spent the next 4 years flying in the Gulf of Mexico out to the platforms, flying high altitude seismic work in the Rocky Mountains, and flying medevac for the US Army in northern Alaska at Fort Wainwright and Fort Greely.
Jeff Freeman, our jack of all trades is not only a licensed Master on the Saltwater Addiction, but he too is also a commercial helicopter pilot. In addition, Jeff is also a Certified Flight Instructor and currently working on his CFI- Instrument Rating.
We hope that you take some time to visit us out at the Whittier Airport. Again, flights will be departing daily. We look forward to seeing you!
