Fishing report July 13th Whittier, Alaska
There is still space left for August and September to book your Whittier Alaska halibut charter.
I recently got a complaint from one of my customers that I had not updated my blog recently. I’m truly sorry. My only excuse is that I have been out on the waters of Prince William Sound catching too many fish. The fishing has been truly amazing for the past couple weeks. Larger halibut are being caught every day with limits of rockfish as well! The smaller “under 28s” have been hard to find, but we tend to come back with a few of them every day. We are looking at them more as a bonus fish rather than something we actively seek.
The silvers remain MIA. We have found only one straggler so far, but are expecting them any day. Lots of pinks are being caught and the silvers usually come in shortly after the pinks. Kings are still mulling around out in the sound as we have run into several of those recently.
Lingcod season opened on July 1st and we are getting our “ling” on!
July is shaping up to be a pretty good month for fishing. Follow us on Facebook to see daily pictures of our catch.
