Fishing Report for Whittier, Alaska
Silver fishing in Whittier, Alaska is CRAZY, INSANE, OFF THE CHARTS, OUT OF THIS WORLD! The bite is hot, hot, hot. We limited the boat out in 36 minutes on Monday the 29th. If you haven’t seen the picture, check out the fishing report on the Anchorage Daily News. http://www.adn.com/2013/07/31/3001674/pinks-chums-make-for-easy-angling.html
Halibut fishing made a turn for the better on Sunday the 28th and has continued to improve. The size of the halibut are increasing but I would still say they are smaller than average.
Rockfish has been crazy good as well. The black rockfish have been surface feeding with the silvers. We limited the boat out on both in 1 hour 06 minutes on Tuesday the 30th.
The weather started getting rough on the 31st so we had to tuck and hide from the silvers (we did manage to catch 4), but I think all on board would agree that limiting the boat out on nice size halibut in 1 hour and 30 minutes constitutes a fabulous halibut bite!
Clay and Kristen have been running themselves ragged. August 1st and 2nd were rest days for them both. Armed and ready for Saturday, the Gales blew and kept us on shore for the 3rd. We are hoping for the best tomorrow!
