About Us
CAPTAIN KRISTEN LABRECQUE
Kristen has been living in Alaska for over 14 years. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a degree in Statistics and did graduate work in Bio-Statistics at the University of Minnesota. She holds a Master’s License with the United States Coast Guard and has over 36 years of boating experience. Kristen is also a licensed Airline Transport Pilot and a licensed Flight Instructor in both Helicopters and Airplanes. Prior to starting Saltwater Excursions, Kristen flew Contract Helicopters for the US ARMY, flying Medevac missions in remote areas of Northern Alaska.

CAPTAIN BRAD BETHARDS
Brad holds a Master’s License with the U.S. Coast Guard and graduated from Appalachian State University in Boone, NC, receiving his degree in Recreation Management with a concentration in Commercial Recreation and Tourism. In addition, Brad also earned an Associate’s degree in Culinary Technology from Central Piedmont College in Charlotte, NC. Prior to working for Saltwater Excursions, Brad worked for a charter company in Seward, Alaska for two seasons as both a deckhand and an experienced sea kayak and wildlife tour guide. He is an avid outdoorsman and mountaineer. During the offseason Brad spends his time fly fishing, hunting and snowboarding in Alaska. Brad’s experience and enthusiasm will ensure the trips will be safe, informative and fun!!
DECKHAND KARL CHAUDHARY
Having lived in Alaska all his life, Karl grew up exploring the waters of Southeast Alaska. Karl’s previous work experience ranges from two seasons as a guide on a zipline operation to working as a deckhand on commercial fishing vessels out of Wrangell and Juneau. Currently, he holds a commercial pilot certificate and graduated with a degree in Aviation Technology with an emphasis in professional piloting from the University of Alaska Anchorage.
DECKHAND CLAY FINNEGAN
Clay grew up on a farm in Indiana. Clay graduated from Vincennes University with an associates’s degree in fire science and conservation law enforcement. The adventures and great outdoors brought him to the north country! He has previously worked on fire crews and has spent a summer as a wilderness adventure guide in Alaska. In his spare time, Clay enjoys hunting, fly fishing, canoeing, camping, and riding his motorcycle; however, he is still in search of that 40″ ram and 30″ rainbow!!!
THE VESSEL
The Saltwater Addiction is a 26 ft Offshore Duckworth with an extended transom. It is a 2011 model powered by twin Yamaha 150 HP outboard engines. Included is a private marine head, a heated cabin, Wallas diesel stove, and a cuddy cabin with a place to lie down. We use only the best fishing gear: AVET REELS, G LOOMIS RODS and of course KODIAK CUSTOM TACKLE!
